What You Should Know About SAP Certification

There are very few Certification credentials in the business world, which carry the same value and prestige as SAP Certification. If you wish to achieve SAP Certification, you have to hone your skills, either through rigorous study or direct industry experience. You will have to demonstrate your abilities with SAP, by passing demanding, process-oriented exams that consist of practical questions. If you pass the exam, you will receive a globally recognized SAP Certificate. Whether you are a SAP partner, client, or user, SAP Certification provides you with a competitive advantage.

In 1999 SAP started their training programs for professionals who were neither customers nor partners. This opened up a whole new world of top-rated training and certification programs at SAP centers around the globe. These training programs can be very expensive, however, and require up to three weeks to gain a deep understanding of a particular module or subject. If you have time and can spend money, you can register for one of SAP’s five-week crash courses in one of the following areas: FI/CO, MM/SD, and HR/ABAP. You can achieve SAP Certification after appearing and passing an examination in your chosen area.

As a Professional aspiring towards SAP Certification, you should be aware that there are three Certification Levels for SAP Certification – Associate, Professional, and Master. For the Associate and Professional levels, there are multi tier certifications available for SAP CRM 2005. There are also three Focus areas for SAP Certification - Application, Technology, and Development. They have been designed to assist you in finding the right SAP certification. All three SAP certification levels apply to the three Focus areas. You can acquire SAP Certification for any of the three Focus areas -

Application level certification – The Application level certification is achievable for a number of SAP solutions. You can appear for the Application level certification examination after completing the required course and case - study, or equivalent SAP course curriculum. If you have extensive experience in implementing SAP solutions, you can appear for the exam without going through the course.

Technology level certification – For this certification, you must complete the SAP solution academy course or SAP training course. You can then appear for the Technology level certification examination and achieve SAP certification. If you already have extensive experience with SAP, you can appear for the exam without going through the course.

Development level certification – The Development level certification is for individuals and professionals who develop applications for SAP solutions. For the Development level certification, you must complete the required academy/SAP course and appear for the examination and become a SAP certified developer.

To prepare for the Exams is another story altogether. Each and every one of the SAP certifications has its own set of preparation methods. You can learn more from the online information available on the different SAP certification. You can also consult the solution academy or a SAP certified professional on exam preparation. There are no prerequisites to appear for a SAP certification examination. For example, it is not a requirement to complete a SAP Associate level examination to qualify for a SAP Professional level examination, and the SAP course is recommended, but it is not a requirement.
