Different Microsoft Certifications for Programmers and Developers

"One machine can do the work of fifty ordinary men. No machine can do the work of one extraordinary man" as put so well by Elbert Hubbard. I don’t think anyone really understands this quote better than the IT specialist, and Microsoft. At least, that is the way it should be.

If a business does not have the right IT team, then they may soon have some serious problems, that is why the Microsoft Certifications are so important to potential employers. The new generation of Microsoft certifications provides a simpler and more targeted framework for IT managers to validate core technical skills, professional skills, advanced skills, and architectural skills. It also provides professionals in the IT industry with a more relevant, flexible, and cost-effective way to showcase their skills.

Technology: Prove core technical skills on Microsoft technologies
The new Technology certifications enable professionals to target specific technologies and distinguish themselves by demonstrating in-depth knowledge and expertise in the broad range of specialized technologies. Microsoft Technology Specialists are consistently capable of implementing, building, troubleshooting, and debugging a particular Microsoft technology.

Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS) Certifications

Professional: Professional skills and a proven ability to perform on the job
Professional Series credentials validate a comprehensive set of skills required to be successful on the job. These skills include design, project management, operations management, and planning, and they are contextual to the job role. By validating a more comprehensive set of skills, these credentials give candidates and their hiring managers a reliable indicator of on-the-job performance.

Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP) Certification

Microsoft Certified Professional Developer (MCPD) Certification

The new Microsoft Certifications exams for .Net are the result of the Microsoft .Net Platform update to .Net Framework version 2.0. Microsoft has changed the way it certifies IT specialists, and most of the new certifications require the candidate to pass 2 Exams for MCTSinstead of 1 Exam for MCP or 3 Exams for MCAD.Net (version 1.1) or 5 Exams for MCSD.Net (version 1.1), except for some like, SQL server 2005, and the BizTalk Server 2006 which only require one exam. The Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS) certifications enable professionals to target specific technologies and to distinguish themselves by demonstrating in-depth knowledge and expertise in their specialized technologies. An MCTS is consistently capable of implementing, building, troubleshooting, and debugging a particular Microsoft technology.

In the new Microsoft .Net Certifications program, there are specialty certifications for Windows based Application Development (MCTS- .Net Framework Windows Applications), Distributed Application Development (MCTS -. Net Framework Distributed Applications), and Web based Application Development (MCTS - .Net Framework Web Applications). After achieving MCTS Certification, if you would like to acquire more thorough knowledge and higher Certification, then you can also go for MCPD (Microsoft Certified Professional Developer) Certification for .Net, which requires the candidate to pass one more Exam on the Windows/Distributed/Web platform. After achieving MCTS-SQL Server 2005, you can either opt for MCITP (Microsoft Certified IT Professional) as a Database Developer or Database Administrator. Each of these certifications (Developer/Administrator) requires the candidate to pass 2 more Exams.

So, to a degree Microsoft is making it a bit more difficult to get certified, but this can be beneficial to you. First because what you will study to become certified will make you an expert in your field. And secondly, because Microsoft has determined, that IT hiring managers have a difficult time trying to figure out which computer certification best qualifies an IT professional. This new type of certification will help identify the right candidates for a specific are of development-e.g Windows, Distributed, or Web. The new type of certification can help you prove your job skills and prove your qualifications making it easier for hiring managers to make the right choice, based on qualification and not on personal likes and dislikes.

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and Ranking – Achieve more with less

Almost all Website owners have heard of Search Engine Optimization or SEO and those who are aware of what SEO can do for a website and online business, are totally immersed in getting their websites to rank on the first page of Google. There are billions of websites on the Internet and every website owner wishes dearly to see their website/page rank in SERPs (Search engine Results Page) for particular keywords/phrases, if not at the No.1 position, at least on the first page.

Most website owners read some ebooks and online material on SEO tactics and try to implement the methods and tactics themselves. Some do succeed with proper implementation of methods and regular and continuous SEO. But most of them fail due to the fact that they do not implement the methods and tactics properly or continuously. Many website owners, after continuous failure, and resulting frustration, hire or contract with a SEO/SEM company or SEO Freelancer and let the professionals do the job.

But does this really work. Organic SEO is not an exact science and there are no specific tried and tested methods and tactics that have been scientifically proved to work. The Google algorithm calculates millions of parameters for a website/page to assign PageRank and nobody is sure what these parameters are. Neither does Google inform the public about the methods and tactics that can be used for ranking and achieving Google PageRank.

Although Google does not inform the public about methods and tactics, it does have specific guidelines which can be followed to achieve the coveted Google PageRank and ranking in SERPs for keywords/phrases. There are many such guidelines, but one of the most important is to acquire Back links for the website. Back Links are links on other sites that lead to your website. But that does not mean that you have to acquire Back Links from any website. Google guidelines state that the number and quality of back links is important.

But you should also take care to see that the Back Links come from good, content rich, theme related (websites with content related to your website), higher PageRank websites, and not from bad neighborhoods like Adult sites, gambling, online pharmacies, etc, unless your site is related to Adult content, gambling, and online pharmacies. Acquiring thousands or even a hundred thousand Back Links from unrelated, low PageRank, or bad neighborhood sites does not help your website achieve PageRank. What is required are a few hundred good quality, high PageRank, thematic Back Links. Most website owners just concentrate on acquiring Back Links, no matter where they come from, the PageRank of the page with the Back Link, and improper anchor text and Link text.

Although acquiring theme-based back links from content rich sites is important, as is the PageRank of the page that has the Back Links, the number of links leading to your website/page is important too. Acquiring a few Back Links from content rich websites is not enough to achieve ranking for the website. Nobody knows for sure how many good quality Back Links will make a site rank in SERPs, and Google is not telling.

Therefore that leaves the website owner or SEO professional with just one option and that is to continuously work on acquiring thematic Back Links for the website/page until the desired PageRank and ranking for keywords is achieved. The reason for continuous SEO is that Google does not assign PageRank and ranking for keywords immediately and takes a month or two to assign new Back Links that have been found around the World Wide Web, to your website and in turn realign the PageRank. Google regularly assigns and deletes Back Links to your website/page. Therefore SEO should be a continuous process to increase Back Links, PageRank and ranking in SERPs. Besides the Quality and Quantity of the Back Links, the anchor text of the Back Link is important too.

Car Parts – Quality, Servicing, Maintenance, and Replacements are Essential

Millions of people in the world today use a car to drive to work, for family outings, for holidays and shopping, for medical emergencies, dropping kids at school, etc. Everybody expects a car to start as soon as they turn the ignition, and expects the car to run smoothly every time and every day without fail, in summer, winter, or rain. Sometimes the Car does not start or if it does, it does not run smoothly and provides a bumpy ride. The reason is that most people take a car for granted and assume that the car will run properly as long it has some gas in it.

But this is not the case. A car like any other machine is made up of hundreds of Car parts that work together to make a car run. All of these parts are crucial to the proper working and smooth running of a car. It may be as trivial as a screw or nut in the Car Engine or Car Gearbox. A loose nut or screw can not only hamper the smooth running of the car, it may even prevent the car from running at all. If it is a crucial nut or screw, such as the ones used in the Wheels of a car, it becomes more essential that they be properly fixed. The Quality, Servicing, Maintenance, and or replacement of Car parts over a period of time is essential and crucial for the proper running and long life of the car.

Timely and proper Servicing and maintenance of a Car and Car parts ensures a longer life for the car with problem free driving. Properly servicing and maintaining the car, with timely replacement of parts with Quality spare parts, ensures that the car does not ditch you when you need it the most, especially in an emergency. One of the most crucial parts of a car, besides the brakes and Car Engine, is the Car Gearbox system. A serviced and maintained Car Gearbox ensures a smooth ride. The opposite of this, a poorly maintained and serviced car and gearbox could be a nightmare ride, with loud noises and bumpy rides. An improperly working Car gearbox could sometimes seem like a giant gnashing his teeth in rage. If you ignore the Car Gearbox and not attend to it in time, you may very well have to replace the whole gearbox in order to use the car.

Quality Car parts, timely servicing and maintenance, and or replacing parts with good quality spare parts is not only essential, but crucial to the smooth running and long life of a car. If you can think of a car as a living, breathing object, then you can understand that just like any other animate object in this world, a car also requires food (oil and gas), servicing and maintenance (washing, oil changes, etc), or some tuning and adjustments of parts (heart surgeries, liver, lung, and stomach ailments) and sometimes replacement of parts (liver transplants, heart transplants). This just shows that if you take care of a car like a family member, it will provide trouble free service for years and be with you like a friend for life.
